THE KDNFS STANDARD

All School Security Specialists (SSS) and Professional Security Specialists (PSS) are required the meet the KDNFS Standard for Armed Personnel.

 

 

  • Must have minimum 20 years of law enforcement experience.
  • Proven to have performed/served in a supervisory capacity within their respective law enforcement organization.
  • Certified as a Resident State Armed Security Officer.
  • Resident State Permit to Carry a Handgun by a Retired Police Officer. Must successfully complete firearms qualification, as mandated by the State of Residence guidelines for Retired Police Officers and LEOSA (H.R.218).
  • Must successfully complete annual Active Shooter/All Hazards Crisis Response training and biannual Advanced Firearms training sessions, including:
  • Refresher training in CPR, First Aid, and AED
